are several parts to the Assault & Battery Proceedings:
Arraignment, Motion to Dismiss, Motion to Supress, Trial,
Judgment and Sentencing. You are about to begin the
first part, Arraignment.
Domestic violence cases may appear in court as either
civil or criminal cases. A person claiming to be a victim
of abuse may come to the court for civil relief in the
form of an order of protection against the alleged abuser,
or may file criminal charges, or both. This section
of the virtual courtroom demonstrates criminal proceedings
arising from allegations of domestic violence. |
